There is no doubt that the American music takes its influences from different parts of the world. In light of this, Asian influences have left their mark on the music scene today. In fact, there are a lot of Asian immigrants who have poured their Chinese traditions with modern American culture. Examples include Jang’s “Temple of the drum. “(Jon Jang, 2002) Jon Jang contribution to the Asian American Arts Practice good that the contribution Jang can analyze, you must understand his background, which measure its effects easier.

Jang began his musical journey than a year before he was twenty. On that moment, trying to become familiar with the basic skills piano. This artist has completed his studies after three years and received a degree in music. It is also interesting to note that the artist was born in America, particularly Los Angeles and was subsequently raised in California. But Yang still kept in contact with her Chinese roots. He draws on his experience as an immigrant Asian American, but at the same time, acknowledges the issues raised in other forms of music as a social injustice in the African-American musical expression.
